Branson Airport Anticipation

The new Branson Airport announces it has signed a national network carrier to bring low-cost air transportation to Branson

Who will be the new carrier(s) at Branson Airport? The answer is a highly guarded secret, but officials for the first commercial airport built entirely with private funding promise a "national network carrier" with discount rates.

If that is so, Branson's growing meeting and convention market will surely see a spike as event attendees will have a much more convenient option for travel to and from the popular destination.

Stay tuned!

Big Cedar Lodge's NEW Grandview Conference Center

Just got our first sneak peek at the much anticipated Grandview Conference Center at Big Cedar Lodge. Here are a few quick snapshots.

The inscription over the entrance reads: "Be Inspired by the Beauty of the Ozarks"

It looks like Big Cedar will continue its tradition as a favorite for business travel in the Ozarks. Stay tuned - I'll soon have a complete review of Big Cedar's resort and meeting facilities.

Hilton Branson Convention Center

Stopped in for a peek at the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel the other day. The lobby is stunning. Very well decorated with a modern vibe - but still using some earthy elements. Looking forward to staying there sometime soon when I'll have a full review.

Top 10 Reasons to Have Your Meeting in Branson

Branson, Missouri is quickly becoming a top destination for corporate travel. If you haven't been to Branson in a while (or ever) you'll be surprised to find out that the little tourist town has come a long way from its humble beginnings of cave tours and country music hoedowns. You don't have to take my word for it, though. Check out this recent article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. New facilities, new development, and hip new attractions have turned this little country town into a "mini-metropolis".

Here are the top ten reasons Branson is a great destination for your next corporate event.

10. Laid Back. Branson is definitely laid back. Not that you can't have a little excitement, but you won't have to deal with the big airport, 8-lane interstate and $20 parking that you'd find in major cities. You'll actually be able to relax and enjoy your surroundings.

9. General Appeal. Branson has a little something for everyone. First class shopping and spas, championship golf at several of the country's top courses, and some of the best trout and bass fishing in the country can all be found right here in the Ozarks. Whether your group is coming for all business (yeah, right!) or all leisure, you'll have a great time. Individuals, couples, and even the entire family will find lots of things to love in Branson.

8. Productivity.
The area's great meeting facilities, natural surroundings, and overall relaxing atmosphere allow for very productive sessions (if that's what you're in to!). Even greater productivity can be achieved with professional meeting planners handling all of the organization of your event while you focus on taking part in it.

7. Scenery. Second to none. The Ozark Mountains (Don't be mislead... they're really more like hills) are absolutely beautiful. The lakes are incredible. Imagine stepping onto the deck of your private cabin with a cup of coffee as the morning fog rests in the valley over Table Rock Lake. It's really something.

6. Accessibility. You can't beat the location as a drive-to destination. Branson is right in the center of the US with 4-lane access from all directions. While airport access has been a little more difficult, the new Branson Airport will open in May 2009 - offering several daily flights on a national carrier to major hubs. (Carrier to be announced) In the meantime, air transportation is available to the Springfield/Branson National Airport, which is about an hour away.

5. Entertainment. Of course Branson is well known for its live entertainment. Along with some well-known performers and variety shows, Branson is home to some of the country's best musicians, comedians, and variety acts. There will be no shortage of entertainment for your event.

4. Activities. Branson is home to a great deal of activities, including shopping, dining, and spas. The area lakes are also great for water sports, terrific Bass and Trout fishing, and for cruising. A professional event planner can help you custom-create events that will make a lasting impression on your attendees.

3. Hotels. With nearly $1 Billion in new development over the last decade, Branson has added some incredible new facilities perfect for hosting corporate events. The most popular meeting destinations include Big Cedar Lodge, Chateau on the Lake, Da Monaco, and the new Hilton Branson Convention Center.

2. Affordability. With the uncertainty of current economic conditions, controlling spending is a top priority of many American companies. Fortunately, Branson can provide a great alternative to major metropolitan destinations. You can get the same first-class treatment and memorable experience at a fraction of the cost. In order to make the most of your event, though, using a professional event planner who knows the area will be a necessity....

1. Branson Executive Travel. Ok, a bit of shameless promotion here... Our firm, Branson Executive Travel is your expert guide for where to stay and where to play while in Branson. Not only that, but we're a full-service firm. What does that mean exactly? Well, we plan your entire meeting from start to finish. Lodging, schedule, meeting space, registration, special events, dining, entertainment, and excursions. During the event, think of us as a full service 24-hour concierge... The answer is yes!

To be completely honest, Branson as a whole doesn't really "get" the first-class 5-star experience that corporate guests expect. While there are great hotels will excellent service, the 5-star scene is still very new to the area. We get it, though. We'll anticipate and make up for any shortcomings, and your event will be flawless!

Visit our website for more info on the company. If you think Branson might be for you, let us put together a proposal. We'll knock your sock off - guaranteed. Follow the link to fill out our RFP (Request for Proposal).
